Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actor. She made her movie debut as an actress and Bond actress with the film A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she appeared in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. She played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Approached by a photographer Doody decided to take up modeling and subsequently a career in commercial modelling. Doody strove to avoid the glamour of nude roles which was a principle she followed in her acting. When she came to the director's attention for the role in a James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody's name appeared in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 of the most promising young actors from 1986. 38. At just 18 at the time she acted in the role Doody was - and remains the youngest Bond girl to date. in 1987 Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA member Siobhan Doovan. Doody was unspoken in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias when she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version from The Secret Garden. Doody performed the role of Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress starred alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as a archaeologist for forensics in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played the role with Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. Doody starred alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries, a British mini-series inspired by Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. The role she played was Flannery on the screen in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody came back to acting in 2003 with a minor part in her role in the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards show. Her roles include the TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 as well as a booklet on the Holocaust as well as an animated short called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody appeared on Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. In 2011 she began the first of two seasons on the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November 2018 she was awarded the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and was awarded a Star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
